ECO-INNOVA

THE PROJECT

 

ECO-INNOVA is an innovative project approved under the second call for proposals of the Atlantic Area European Territorial Cooperation Programme, an instrument of the cohesion policy for the programming period 2007-2013, financed by the European Commission through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

 

ECO-INNOVA project is focussed on cooperation, investment and technical assistance for SME´s.

 

The main objective is to create a transnational structure to report, advise, promote and develop eco-innovation in SMEs, and to support the creation and start-up of eco-innovative SMEs in the Atlantic Area.

 

 

PARTNERSHIP

 

ECO-INNOVA partnership is built up by 6 partners and 2 associated entities:

 

-          1 local authority

-          1 non-profit organisation liked to a Regional Government

-          2 business incubators

-          1 regional development agency

-          1 University

-          1 business association

-          1 Regional Agency for Energy and Environment.

 

The partners of the project are the following:

 

•        Concello de Ourense (ES)

•        ACIBTM – In.Cubo: Associação para o Centro de Incubação de Base Tecnológica do Minho (PT)

•        Fundación Galicia-Europa (ES)

•        ADRAT -Associação de Desenvolvimento da Região do Alto Tâmega-  (PT)

•        University of Glamorgan (UK)

•        Bordeaux Productic (FR)

 

The associates are:

 

•        AREALIMA -Agência Regional de Energia e Ambiente do Vale do Lima - (PT)

•        CEVAL - Conselho Empresarial dos Vales do Minho e Lima- (PT)

 

Moreover, there are some supportive entities which have already shown their interest in the project’s results. It is a strong partnership covering all action fields: public authorities (territorial and environmental ones), academic sphere, and business field:

 

•        MARM - Ministerio de Medio Ambiente, Medio Rural y Marino de España- (ES)

•        Facultad de Ciencias de Ourense (ES)

•        AEP – Associação Empresarial de Portugal- (PT)

 

 

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

 

The specific project’s objectives are:

 

-          The definition of a Strategy to promote and develop eco-business and eco-innovation among SMEs in the Atlantic Area, based on individual in deep analysis of partner regions situation

-          The creation of a Toolbox for innovation with several transnational services to boost eco-innovation and eco-business.

 

 

PROJECT DURATION AND BUDGET

 

The project has a duration of 35 months and it will be implemented during years 2010, 2011 and 2012.

 

The total budget of the project is around 1,.4 Million € with a ERDF co-financing rate of 65% (0,9 Million €).
